My favourite part was Tom being initially suspicious of Mike in Manhattan's call about the bowling alley in White House, then doing a U-turn when presented with the image of John McCain in a climbing wall helmet.
"How do they see you when there's no light?"

better make it neutral, Spoony: Urban Outfitters (straight outta philly).

AA has LA alliances.

I hear your concerns Baron. But there is one third party who has a foot on both coasts and loves gross thighs: Vice Magazine.

"This guy Fredericks is blowing up my spot"

Tom's use of the soundboard on that call was amazing.

Yes. They hold to the idiom that with some games, you play to lose. A "race to the bottom, if you will."

Tom's rendition of the canadian fellow's rendition of "let's get a soda" (double duty post for this and get ready to meet my little friend thread) made me laugh very out loud.

A pretty good song, and the video is notable for the baffling casting choice of the lead. I'm plenty proud of Kim Mitchell.

What the hell.

Am I the only one who thinks the new intro was a bit TOO busy?

No.  But I also dislike change, so probably that's why I'm being critical.  In a while, I likely won't mind it a bit.

Maybe I am the same way, a little bit. I loved the new intro -- it really brings the show into 2009, and Tom is correct, its crowdedness does lend itself to repeated listening. At the same time, I miss little things like:

Tentpole show!

Petey
and other features of Best Shows past.

So many great things in this show: the Petey GOMP, the all in Fredricks soundboard call and the "heave ho" to the lady that got turned on.

My two favourites: The bit about tightening the purse strings but not cutting off the premium Kid from Brooklyn website and the Mike Show.

What an awesome start to year.

Tom's McCain impression is highly underrated. Gets me EVERY TIME.

So yeah, the little McCain reference during the Obama conversation takes the cake for me. And the Adam from New York/Fredricks of New Port Richey call. The "if you don't have a body" line...

I'm really feeling bad for Spike though. He sounded defeated.

Going back to the Zak G show I thought Tom responding to "..this crazy idea that shopping can make you happy" with "it makes me a little happy" was just the best. Well underplayed imo.
