A friend of mine has a license that is my initials and my birthday. "CMH 716"

At first I was amused, but then I was immediately a bit creeped out.

Now you have creeped me out.

That's my birthday too

Oh Dave. I'm honored.

Circa 1984, there was a gynecologist in my town who was fairly handsome and cheated on his airhead wife fairly openly. He drove a red Porsche Targa and his license plate said, "Pap Man".

Yep, I also live in Virginia.

This was probably around 93 or 94, my parents were taking me and my little brother to the Bronx Zoo and on the way there I saw a NY license plate that said "HOMEBOY" and for some reason it's one of those mundane things from when I was a little kid that I never forgot and am always reminded of it pretty much any time I think about vanity license plates.

I also saw one in a Burger King drive-thru 2 or 3 years ago that read "KILLA", which cracked me up since the driver looked like a 15 year old version of Buster from Arrested Development.

No we've already established that 716 is mine and DfK's birth-date. So that driver loved us, or our birthdays. Obviously.

It took me way too long to realize this probably isn't supposed to make sense.

The best one I've seen was when I went to do my drug test for a new job. They told me that I had five minutes to give them my sample. As I was leaving, I noticed there was a car with a vanity license plate that read "5MIN2GO". I was dumbfounded, to be honest-- it's the sort of thing that doesn't make any sense except in the exact right context, but when it does...

I've wanted that or ECTO-1 for a while now.

In Virginia the state must pay you to have a vanity plate.   I think every car has one.
True. They're everywhere here.  One that made me laugh out loud: MMMBOP.

A girl who I went to high school with had that one.

Another girl had SPICY on her Ford Probe.
