Burn.

How many posts do I need to get to the secret stuff?

Just a couple more, Buff. You're nearly there. Don't give up!

Bad News Bears (1977)
https://youtu.be/sloo9PMVoRE

I am convinced, and I will not be convinced otherwise, that Mr. Daniel "Hi, How Are You" Johnson himself must have seen this film in 1977, just as I did. The clip is the absolute proof. Ahem. The film, while...a film, had different effects on the two of us and our future directions (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dMYjCINcH9g). Of course, the outcomes will be the same for us in the end, so there is that.

Also of note from 1977 is this particular comic, Mad Magazine #190, as it was the first issue of Mad that my dear mother bought for me. Many more issues would follow. We would read it together, and laugh, and she would take the time to explain all of the names of people that an eight year old would likely never know: Spiro Agnew, George Lincoln Rockwell, Twiggy, etc. I learned to read and to think critically during these very important years, because of these activities and others like them - courtesy of my dear mom who turns 90 this month.

So, a toast of sparkling water, to the year 1977 and my mom - there will never be a better '77 or mom for me.

Heh - I re-read this and it reminds me of Bugs Bunny as the great Władziu: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n7NZza-C-AY

The Weatherbee - Dance of the Week1

1Strobe Light warning

Hey Fon - Did you ever dance The Weatherbee when you were a kid?

I remember seeing the tutorial sometime after The Monkees ran away, but I don't remember it ever really catching on. Perhaps a "big hit" in Fla.?

Thanks for the hello there, too - I have had a bunch of adventures of late, one that involved a trip that was nearly of no return. Nonetheless, I did return with some very interesting specimens.

Which reminds me...would you, or do any other FOTs know, if there is a PO Box for the Best Show? I have an artifact, a small booklet of sorts that is not easily obtained (there are many, many gates to pass and even more trials to endure once in the talcum), but well worth the risks for the adventuresome (Note: My hand is raised). Anyway, the text might prove to be useful to the show through its creative elements and words of wisdom - and, if not, then the item could always be sold on Ebay.

Happy Labor Day, Fon, everyone. I won't be editing grammer, spelilng, or styul'n

Edit: Wasn't done not edittin' or syling

First question's answer:
If you're talking about Bill, definitely not!

Second:
I feel certain there must be.

MacAurthur Park (SCTV)

MacAurthur Park is my Karaoke go-to. It is rarely a request from my crowd, but I never, ever wait for them to ask. Just give, give, give - that's what I say.

The "Cake Out In the Rain" motif made another appearance in a different song, "Cuddly Toy by The Monkees", which Mr. Harris used to weep-listen to in his room on his close-n-play stereo.

The result of all those tears? MacAurthur Park.

True Dumb story.

I like this one. There are a few more like it on the album or somewhere - really, nice, Wedding-Present-y, John Peele-y, Nautical Disaster-ish, Bowie-kinda, doomy-gloomy hopelessness.

Can't wait for their tour!!!

Well, here's a playlist: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B0RAdfrQwvo&list=PL217459CB4AA6D71D

I listened to the most recent, second-most-recent, and a chunk of the third-most-recent episode yesterday, and I was charmed and surprised to hear that Tom plays video games.  Definitely unexpected, for some reason, but maybe even funnier because of that.

No, I don't think I DO have a point.
