Stuff You Missed in History Class

Was listening to this show, last night. It was about the other Pope Benedict who stepped down.

A great story for a Harmony Korine/Werner Herzog movie.  Bribery, orgies, murder.

Gonna throw more love toward the Flop House. I recommend the Abduction episode as a place to start with. The show's been getting a lotta buzz from Podmass lately--even consistently landing in the "quotes" section.

This week's CBB made me do a 180 for John Daley. And I mean that in a good way.

Yup, it was a good one. After shitting on the show earlier in this thread, I feel obliged to say that I was delighted by this episode - especially Neil Campbell's play, Quackers Featherbeak's Cuckoo Caper.

I've always liked Jon Daley, going back to his days as half of 'Cracked Out' with Brett Gelman.

This is Talk Time w/ Emily and Micah! They are two of my closest friends and also two of the funniest people alive. They're podcast has a unique high-concept: They're a married couple who just talk to each other about the zaniness that is their lives.

Does anyone listen to Jeff Garlin's program?

His talk about how awful modern comedy movies are is pretty great, considering the source.

I like what I've heard of Garlin's show. I've never seen him do standup, so my only real exposure to him is through his appearances on TV and in movies. I can't say I find him hilarious on any of those, but he's had really good interview subjects on the show thus far and my favorite thing about it is that he has such a huge, out-of-control laugh that whenever he cracks up, I find myself laughing at him laughing.
I'll probably go into the wee hours.

Which episode is this?

I've never listened to it, having been turned off by his appearances on Doug Loves Movies and Comedy Bang Bang, but I am interested in some of his guests.

I think it was on either the Will Ferrell or Zach episode. Those have been my two favorites so far.

He also brings it up on the Conan episode three or four times.

Okay some recent discoveries I can recommend,

Movie Geeks United - Finally a movie related podcast that doesn't annoy me. I highly recommend there Kurbrick Series episodes, that's where I started.  Skip the uncut Kubrick episodes til after you ever heard the numbered ones.  Surprisingly they never ask for donations or mention sponsors, which is really odd to me.  Limitless episodes if you enjoy this one.

Theory of Everything - If you enjoyed Too Much Information and wish Benjamin Walker would go back to the story format, here you go.  Four episodes up so far.  He kind of reminds me of Joe Frank at times and sometimes Ira Glass.  He is his own unique voice to be sure.

Why does Jeff Garlin a) hate everything b) think "big bowl of..." is charming?
