What episodes of the Archive are people listening to?
« on: March 02, 2009, 09:55:00 PM »
I've been working my way forward in the archives and was wondering what episodes people are listening to.

I am downloading Road House in preparation to watch the one from July 20, 2004: Tom Does A One Man Version Of The Entire Movie Road House! Also, An Unfair Record Review Of The New Wilco Album.

How about you which was the last archive you listened to?  Alternate question what is one of your favorites?

I just got to 2002 working my way up from the beginning. Just heard the debut of PBR. And Michael Jackson going Punk. And Hasu (sp?) Kid stuff. Freaking gold I tells ya! Dec 2001 and Jan 2002 are REALLY good.

and  was wondering what episodes people are listening to....

I must say, Alvaro, that since you mentioned the debut of Spike on the 02/03/04 episode, I went there, and I was howling during the lovely toblerone stuff, but disturbed by Spike's initial calls. It was painfully ironic when Tom at one point was like "This guy is my favourite caller now, honestly, I think he's my favourite caller..."

When it comes to the archives, I was being fairly methodical about a year ago, but later on I started to get a lot more sporadic, jumping around amongst the hot streaks, and i think it's served me fairly well.
If honesty changed the hearts of men, who could contend? If all I thought were true, in this great divide that is my life, I fear to think of all that I'd undo, if all i thought were true.

the one where Marky Ramone reads his erotic literature is one of my faves.  It's in the description.

I just listened to Tom's on air kidney stone episode. Despite all the music, it's still a towering win.

The XFL spectacular (2/27/01).
I'll probably go into the wee hours.

I'm don't know about Sam Seder's other work, but Gerald Perlmutter was freaking hilarious.

i started at the bottom, and I'm working my way towards the top.  I listen to the current show when it goes up, of course, but I'm about halfway there, around May of '05.  My wife is a good sport.

Not to get off topic but does anyone know what episode introduces the Mickey Dolenz rivalry?

Tom first told the story of getting snubbed by Dolenz at the 2:21 mark of the 3/25/06 program.
