Chic-A-Go-Go (Attn: Chicago People)
« on: April 22, 2009, 01:35:10 AM »
Do any of you watch/participate in this?  I just found out about it via YouTube and it looks great.

It's basically a public access kid dance show.  Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be a way to watch full episodes unless you live in Chicago.

Sadly, that amazing gem flew under my radar during my days of watching 19 in the city. But since we're on the topic of the weirdness of Chicago's public programming, here is one I do remember:

I guess I am pushing this thread more towards a general "local TV weirdness" theme. Here was the highlight of many a late sixties-early seventies night for me as a 10-13 year old in Nashville.

One of the many reasons why Chicago is America's best city.

Wow, I enjoyed the hell out of that clip.

Apparently the most horrible costume ever concocted by man is...William Friedkin. Who knew?

I heard the first song on Savage Kick #68.

If any of you Chicagoans are free on Saturday, my buddy Ernest is trying to recreate Ferris Bueller's Day Off. Help out? Or watch? I don't know.

Yeah you're right about that AM thomas, the hostess just pronounced it wrong!  But I think it only added to the charm.

Unfortunately, samir, I have to work tomorrow.  Good luck to your friend, it sounds like an awesome project!
