*WASHINGTON**, June 22, 2010* - Micky Dolenz of The Monkees will perform

on Wednesday, June 23rd, at 4:30 p.m., in Room HVC 125 of the Capitol
Visitor Center. The bipartisan musical group assembled for this one-time
only event includes:

  - Rep. Tom Rooney (R-FL) on drums
  - Rep. Ted Deutch (D-FL) on keyboard
  - Other surprise guest performers

Dolenz will be in Washington to meet with members of Congress about the
Performance Rights Act, a bill that will close the loophole in copyright law
that allows AM and FM music radio stations to earn billions without
compensating the artists and musicians that listeners tune in to hear.

In 2009, The Monkees’ hit songs like “I’m a Believer,” “Last Train to
Clarksville,” and “Daydream Believer” were played more than 25,000 times on
AM/FM music radio stations without any compensation given to the performers.

Don’t miss this unforgettable opportunity to hear Micky Dolenz and members
of Congress play hit songs that music lovers enjoy and radio continues to
play.

Are they referring to the Dolenz et al, or the session musicians who actually played the songs?

What about the guy who wrote it?
