Guest Suggestion: Jon Wurster

He drums for the Mountain Goats and Superchunk - who are coming out with a new album soon! I've heard a couple interviews with him recently and he seems like a funny guy. Maybe bring him into the studio with someone like Paul F. Tompkins who's been on the show a couple of times and is comfortable with the format (length of the show, taking calls, etc.)? I think it could be pretty good.

I hear Marky Ramone does a dead-on Jon Wurster impression.

It occurred to me recently that it would be awesome if Tom played some new Superchunk but referred to them as Chunkysoup in order to preserve the mystery.

Dude is still recovering from a serious label choke job. Heard he had to sell his vintage '64 maple red ludwigs and now works for American Appareal as an 'idea guy' or something.

That sounds great. I've listened to Superchunk for years, but I know so little about the man behind the drum kit.

Come on, he's a drummer. Outside of Buddy Rich, what drummer has ever been interesting?

First, I hear he's kind of a dick. Second, I think it's John Wooster. He also started an avant-garde performance group in the late 70s, apparently, but had to leave after a fistfight with Willem Dafoe.
