Tom has commented positively on these (not necessarily his "favorite movies"):

All Coen brothers films
All Wes Anderson films
Most Pixar stuff
Shattered Glass
Zodiac
Exit from the Gift Shop
Unbreakable
In The Loop
Cabin Boy
Head
Inglourious Basterds

Also the movies of P.T. Anderson.

Also "There Will Be Blood," no?

By the way, my last post was a vindictive joke. I listened to an old show the other night where Tom made some just ridiculously wrong-headed and derisive comments about Preston Sturges, the greatest American comedy director.  Watch them for sure, then tweet him and tell him he's wrong.

I remember him and Patton Oswalt saying they really liked the Snake. And I vaguely remember Tom saying he liked Four Lions.

The Snake is very funny. He once commented on The Third Man saying it is one of the best movies ever made. He was talking about how the DVD only had one disc when Beer League had two.

He said Dr. Strangelove was one of his favorites recently.

Ealing Comedies? I think he's mentioned The Ladykillers specifically; not so sure about any other ones.

Is it just me, or does this kind of look like a sleazy Clifford?

I remember him arguing with a caller that it's a great satire but not a great comedy.
