Hi all!  I'm Dan, from Philadelphia.  I subscribed to the podcast back in 2007, but subsequently got way behind on the show.  I just caught up today!  Well, I thought I would test out the waters here on the discussion board.  A special shout out to any other FOTs in Philly!

Awesome!  Love the love from Philadelphia... I am representing up in N Philly/E Falls.  I've seen elsewhere on this board that from time to time a gathering of the Philly FOT has been considered.  Is there still interest in making this happen?  Has one already happened?

I have a comedy show on Sunday if any Philly FOTs want to come. It's at Connie's Ric Rac in S. Philly, 9th and Washington at 8 pm. It's a comedy tribute to Billy Joel.

Where does PBR go for cheesesteaks?  Surely not only Wawa?  D'Allesandro's is great, probably the best, but I don't make it up to Roxborough very often.  Campo's is pretty good, too.

Seriously, though, Philadelphians, what's the matter with that guy?  Is he trying to give Maurice of South Carolina a run for his money?

Mustard-based SC barbecue is decent, though inferior to tomato-based western NC barbecue, which is itself vastly inferior to vinegar-and-pepper-based eastern NC barbecue.

And of course, within eastern NC barbecue you have your Kinston fans, your Rocky Mount fans, your Lexington fans and on and on.  My favorite is found up near the NC/VA border, but that's where my people are from.


None of it makes up for the whole Maurice thing, though.  Read more on him, Lubec.  I get the feeling that he's happy to have black people eat his barbecue - as long as he can reopen the rear entrance to the restaurant.
